Franz Danzi, Offenbach, and Elector Carl Theodor

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the Kammerensemble des Neuen Mannheimer Orchesters brings a special evening of chamber music to St. Marien Church in Offenbach. Presented as part of the rich musical legacy of the Johann André Archive, the concert explores Offenbach’s historical ties to Schwetzingen and the courtly world of the Elector, placing works by Mozart alongside music by the late Classical composer Franz Danzi, who was born in Schwetzingen and published in Offenbach.

The program features Mozart’s Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat major, K. 452, the Piano Sonata in F major, Op. 3 by Franz and Margarethe Danzi, and Franz Danzi’s Quintet in D minor, Op. 41. The ensemble is led by Anders Muskens, who will also perform on fortepiano, highlighting the color and intimacy of historical instruments in repertoire closely connected to the Mannheim tradition.

The concert begins at 7:00 pm, with doors opening at 6:00 pm, at Katholische Kirche St. Marien, Bieberer Straße 55, 63065 Offenbach am Main. Tickets are available at the door for €20, with reduced admission at €15.
